Jeff’s Sunflowers

I love watching students finish paintings that they are working on in class. Jeff paints with us when he is in town and he just completed this wonderful sunflower painting as a Christmas gift. It turned out great and I know they will be thrilled to receive such a wonderful surprise.

You may know Jeff as Breezy’s dad. Breeze comes to class to and we love it when she does. Here’s an old picture of Breeze posing with the kids at art camp one summer. Looking for a unique gift for a family member or loved one? Or maybe you just want a break from all the holiday craziness? Or maybe you need a few hours without the kids to do some last-minute shopping or gift wrapping? Let the kids come to the “Paint Your Own Pet Workshop” next weekend. Or you come to the adult workshop and paint one for yourself!

There will be two workshops – one for kids and one for adults. These workshops will provide everything you need to create a “Masterpiece”. Just select a great profile photo of your pet and register for the workshop. Registration deadline is December 20^th. This project is for the absolute beginner or long-time painter. Sam’s Gift is a Hit!

Last month I had a private painting lesson with Sam. She painted her aunt and uncle’s cabin for them as a surprise Christmas gift.

Her grandmother, Barbara, arranged it all. I got a message yesterday that they got the gift and LOVED it. What’s not to love about that kind of thoughtful gift. And Sam did a SUPER job. What a sweet girl!!!

It’s not too late to give your own gift of art. Book a private lesson and paint a gift for someone you love. Kids Paint Holiday Paintings

We did a holiday painting yesterday in kid’s class. Their tree limbs with holiday ornaments turned out so good. Fabulous everyone! (Remember kids class is every Thursday at 4:15 for kids ages 7-13. Register your young artist today for next weeks class.)

This week Jacob asked his mom to schedule an art lesson on Wednesday since we had no class scheduled this week for the holiday. He didn’t want to give up his art for the week so he had a private lesson. Then he asked if he could paint a castle! Of course he can! Great job Jacob.

This week Jacob and Ethan made layered collages in art class. We used all sorts of interesting things to build the art from buttons and ribbon to old magnets and plastic forks. They turned out great. Good job guys. Very creative.

The River View in Class

A few weeks ago I took a photo of the Shenandoah River while walking down the path to the dog park. It was the perfect reference photo for a landscape painting for the kids class this week. I had four boys….what a challenge. 🙂 They made beautiful paintings of our lovely fall landscape here in the Shenandoah Valley. Great job!
