Visitors…

We often get visitors here at the house.

This is Morgan, my niece who was here a few weeks ago.  The boys LOVE her and she loves them.

In the window is Max visiting this week while his people are on vacation. He loves playing with Lincoln.

And you will remember Ordo.  He visits often since he stayed with us for a few weeks last May.  He also loves playing with Lincoln.  (Lincoln is such the little host!)

And this is Jen, Ordo’s mom, and Lincoln looking on.

We love having puppy visitors!

During the Farm Tour last May I took lots of photos of Barns and Farms for the upcoming show at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.  I have painted several including this one of a horse stall barn at Butch Eastham’s farm.

There was several children there that day so excited about seeing the horses.  I decided it would be better painting with the little girl in it so I made a change.

That’s one thing about painting.  You can always change something if you decide you would like it better another way!

I call this Farm Tour at the Eastham Barn. It is an 8″x10″ acrylic on canvas.

Also, took this photo of Little Girl when I was at the Eastham Farm that day.  Couldn’t resist showing it…

Several weeks ago as I was preparing for Modern Art Camp for the kids I decided I needed to attempt a copy of a Matisse painting since that’s what we would be doing for camp.  The one on the left, Lady in a Purple Dress, is the one I did.  My Wednesday Young Artists gave it a go too.  Charlee is shown her with her beautiful version.

And this is Maggie with her excellent version.  Great job girls.  It was fun painting in a little different style and learning more about Matisse.

Yesterday I spent several hours at the location where we will build the new dog park with a marvelous photographer, Amanda Hoyle, and a delightful volunteer, Kaydee Gizzi.  These two worked really hard to get a great shot of every dog that came out to support our fundraiser for the park.

The lengths that Kaydee went to in order to set up the shot for Amanda was amazing.  Here she is holding Flaco.  Setting her up on the ground and then rolling out of the shot and Flaco runs like the wind to her mom.  Really funny to watch.  Many thanks ladies for your hard work and for your support of the Dog Park.  We are getting so close now.  Look for the next two events –  Community Yard Sale at Petco on Saturday, August 20th and a Jewelry Show and Auction on Tuesday, August 23rd at the Blue Ridge Arts Council Gallery.
