Marine Corps War Monument Complete

Marine Corps Monument with foreground laid in – no details
Continuing work on the Marine Corps Memorial painting. Getting closer to being done. Yesterday I worked on the foreground. There are still lots of details to add in but the color is laid in on the uniforms. Hoping to wrap it up today.

I continued the work on the Marine Corps Memorial painting yesterday. I got in the trees and bushes as well as the band in the background. It’s coming along. Now to get the foreground finished.

Marine Corps War Memorial in progress
Several months ago while I was in the midst of painting ball parks I got an unusual commission request. A gentleman brought in an old photo that he wanted transformed to canvas of a formation in front of the Marine Corps War Memorial. The photo is probably from the 70’s and he is one of the guys in the formation. This is not something that I ordinarily do but he was insistent so I took the commission. I worked on it this weekend and here is how it is going so far.
