Americana Art Camp Finale

We had such a great four days of painting at The Studio during Americana Art Camp and yesterday we wrapped up with two fabulous paintings. Just take a look at these young artists work. July Banners – A Little Early

We got a jump start on our July Banners with this group on Sunday as they came to the Machine Mat & Thread Caddy class so they stayed to make their July banners. It was a full afternoon of sewing. Didn’t they do a great job on both projects???!!!

Flying Flag Quilt Class

We had a great quilt workshop at The Studio Friday evening and Saturday. These quilters got a great start on their Flying Flag quilts. They went home with some homework and will return in a few weeks to complete their quilts. Can’t wait to see how they turn out. Great work everyone. We even had two new to quilting enthusiastic students. We’re always excited to introduce new people to quilting. Flying Flag Quilt

I’m really pleased with the way the Flying Flag Quilt turned out. I just finished it yesterday. It’s from Amy Smart’s Diary of a Quilter’s pattern. It’s so easy and super cute. While hers is a traditional quilt I made mine as a Quilt as You Go. This may have to be a class soon. It would be great for beginners. And it is perfect for upcoming Memorial Day, 4th of July and Veteran’s Day holiday display around your home. Or if you know a veteran you would like to honor, this would be a perfect gift. Memorial Day Remembrance

I painted this one about 8 or 9 years ago out on the porch at The Studio as motorcycles road down Main Street heading to DC for Rolling Thunder. As they passed by and saw what I was doing they blew their horns and yelled encouragement. I have always loved this one both for the subject matter and for the memory that goes with it.
