Just finished this Simplex Star quilt. It’s a variation on the Friendship Star and Lincoln seems to like it. This is the block our Block of the Month group is doing for our Sampler quilt but I liked it so much I wanted to do an entire quilt with it. I really like the way the diamonds highlight the stars. This one might be a keeper. If you are interested in learning to quilt with the Quilt as You Go method contact Kelly to join in on the next group class beginning soon. kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com

Take a favorite flannel shirt and turn it into a cute tote bag. This would be a great way to use a shirt from a loved one to make a memory tote.

The family that paints together, stays together! Well, maybe that’s not how that saying goes exactly but I believe it might be true. Just look at Bobby, Daisy and Amy’s wonderful pet portraits from yesterdays class. Nice work guys! Can’t wait till you come back to paint again soon.

With the weather reports we decided that we better move up our session for making a Chubby Tote to yesterday so a group of the ladies scheduled for the class were able to come early to make their bags. Didn’t they turn out GREAT?! We are hoping to get the others who were scheduled in to do theirs either right before the snow or right after.

In December I got a call about a new student, interested in learning to paint…could she join one of our classes? Of course, I asked if she had any experience painting and her age. No experience….and she’s 90. She’s 90!!!!! And she is here at The Studio learning something new. It’s never too late to learn to do something creative. And Matilde is our example. Just look at her!!!!!!!!! If you want to learn to paint contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com and get started this week.
