encouraging-thunderI recently received the “Encouraging Thunder Award”.  Many thanks to  my blog follower, Prasna, for the nomination.  You can see her blog at https://art2peace.wordpress.com/

I am so thrilled that readers of my blog get encouragement from what they find in my daily posts.  This makes me very happy!

Part of receiving the award is that I must tell my purpose in blogging.  I blog to encourage others to paint and paint daily!  I really feel that anyone who has the desire to create can.  There are so many ways to learn and improve.  If my blog encourages anyone to discover their creative side then I am happy with what the blog is conveying.

So thanks again to Prasa for the nomination and for following ‘Life of a Daily Painter”.

I would like to nominate my friend and fellow blogger, Elizabeth Cottrell with http://www.heartspoken.com, to receive the next Encouraging Thunder award.

Here are The Rules for the Encouraging Thunder Award:

• Post it on your blog.

• Grant other bloggers the award.

What you cannot do:

1. Abuse or misuse the logo.

2. Claim that it is your own handmade logo.

What you should do after receiving the Encouraging Thunder Award:

• Enjoy the award!

• At least give thanks via comments, likes and/or mentioning the blog that you received the award from.

• Mention your purpose in blogging

Cutting the Birthday Cake

Cutting the Birthday Cake

One year ago today we opened The Studio-A Place for Learning on Main Street in Front Royal.  Hard to believe a whole year has passed.

We had a wonderful Birthday Party yesterday evening to celebrate.  We made Gelli print bags, Lotus Lanterns, Masks, Decorated Frames and more.

Many, many  people have come to classes and learned new arts and crafts this year.  We want to thank everyone who has participated in making The Studio a success.  Whether you taught a class or workshop or took one, offered ideas and encouragement or helped set up The Studio, we want to say a HUGE thanks.  You made it happen.

The Studio is a fun place.  People gather to learn but often find that they leave not only with a new skill but have  made new and lasting friendships as well.  We love that!

So plan to come to the Studio soon.  We’d love to see you again (or for the first time)!
