We had a great session of Sewing Camp this morning with 5 new students learning to sew on machines. They are making a little lap quilt like the sample pictured here. They did great getting their blocks organized and quilted. Tomorrow we will put them together and bind them. They are going to be great!!!! Just wait till you see them.

Just put together this cute baby quilt using an ABC panel for my friend, Leah. It’s for her first grandbaby. I love keeping panels in my stash for quick gifts needs that pop up.

Pat and Janet are making great progress on their Row Quilts. Yesterday they worked on a Sawtooth Variation. They look great! I can’t wait to see these quilts put together. They are going to be fabulous!

Just completed the “Block in the Row” quilt that I started down at the river last week. It was fun one to make and went pretty fast as a Quilt as You Go project. Now on to the next one….

Last year I invested in a quilt design software program called EQ8 – Electric Quilt. I love it. It has made it so much easier to design blocks and quilts and put it all together. Most designers who use this software are probably traditional quilters but I still use the designs as “Quilt as You Go” projects. It’s pretty easy to adapt them to QAYG. This is one I finished yesterday and thought you might like to see the design layout and the actual quilt. I tweaked it a little when I laid it out. I love EQ8! #IEQ8

Row Quilt Class #1

One of the coolest exhibits on display now at The National Quilt Museum was the School Block Challenge. Here is the description on the museum website…”School Block Challenge 2023 competition and exhibition is celebrating 30 years. This quilt block contest and exhibit is open nationwide to students in K-12th grade. Moda Fabrics provides three challenge fabrics which must be included in each block. Entries must also contain some type of machine or hand stitching.” We were so glad to see that young people are being encouraged to take up the art of quilting.
