After Joan is an acrylic on gallery wrap canvas measuring 24″x12″. The Joan in the title is Joan Mitchell (no, not the singer) a wonderful abstract artist that produced beautiful paintings. She is one of the artists that we studied for the upcoming show at the arts council. The opening reception is tomorrow from 5:30-7 p.m. Stop by and see these paintings in person. The scope of the work is very interesting. We hung the show yesterday and it looks great!

I started working on this little guy last week while working at Delilah’s, an artist co-op in downtown Front Royal. I often paint while working there on the weekends. People seem to enjoy watching a painting come to life.
