This week the young artists painted a still life of an apple. Great job guys!

The Thursday young painters are jokers too!
Here they are with their great work! Good job everyone.
Sophia did great work too on the painting of her dog. She just moved up from the young artist class to the adult class recently and she’s doing just great. (And there’s Alyssa in the background working on her watercolor.)
And I’m not calling anybody’s name but Susan likes to paint with her fingers….

Here is the Wednesday Afternoon Line-up….that is the line-up of young artists who painted with me.
And the Wednesday Adult class was glad to be back together and painting since we missed last Wednesday because of bad weather.
If you would like to paint with either of these classes, contact me at kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com . You’re missing lots of fun if you don’t join us. 🙂
Mia and the Chevy

Mia with The Chevy. She made this special gift for her dad in a private lesson yesterday afternoon. Didn’t she do a fantastic job?
She later told me she didn’t think she could do it. And I told her that the thing that stops most people from succeeding in art is fear. Don’t be afraid to try. The only thing you do wrong is to not try!
Good job Mia!!!
Mountains with Low Clouds…and Shelly!

The Wednesday Young Artist class painted a wonderful landscape of mountains with low hanging clouds. This was a free-form lesson where they followed along as I painted. Can you imagine they did this in only an hour? I’m not sure if they are just great artists or if I’m a good teacher! 🙂

And here is Shelly…one of my students from the Wednesday Adult class. Shelly has been painting with me for a couple of years now and does an excellent job. But she is always giving the kids a hard time when I take their pictures for the blog. She tells them that I never take photos of her to post. Well here she is….hard at work. (And just to set the record straight, Shelly has had her photo on the blog before. Click here to see her: https://lifeofadailypainter.com/2010/09/20/caution-artists-at-work/

Cardinals for Class

I finally remembered to take my camera to class and get some photos of things we have been painting in the kids classes. These are the cardinals that I did last week for the Wed. and Thurs. classes. The kids really seem to enjoy painting animals. If you have a student 8 – 12 years old that would like to paint with us, email me at kwalker@doubledogdesigns to sign them up for a class. I know they will have fun.

Snowmen arrive

Snowmen have arrived…..well, in art class anyway. We had a few minutes left at the end of our children’s class yesterday so we did a 5-minute painting. A small canvas, and only five minutes. We all painted a little snowman. This was mine. Cute, huh?
And speaking of cute……one of my adult students sometimes brings her little one with her to class and she paints too! This is her little snowman from that evening. Cute, huh????
