One of the amazing groups of quilts that we saw at QuiltCon in Raleigh was these called “Swimming Upstream”. They were fascinating. Such a simple subject but who would have thought to make it into quilts.

Yesterday I attended QuiltCon for the first time. It was held in Raleigh this year. It’s the largest Modern Quilt Show in the world. I was not disappointed! There were so many amazingly beautiful quilts….unique and colorful. And then there were minimalist designs. This one, Mulberry Swirl by Kelly Spell of Hixson TN won the Minimalist category. It is so simple but gorgeous. The show runs through Sunday so if you can get to Raleigh’s Convention Center it is worth the trip!
