Last week I let my friend Sandra get me into another project.  LOL (You might remember Sandra as the one with whom I sewed the cussing jacket.  See it here.)

Now we have made Garden Princesses.  Sandra’s book called them scarecrows but I didn’t think they were scary at all.

I love how they turned out.  They are cut out of plywood and painted with acrylics and embellished with tin.  They are treated for outdoor use.

Thanks Sandra for getting me into this one.  I love my princess and she is working in the garden right now.  Can’t wait for our next project!

Doorman 1Doorman 2Last week I needed a little something new and fun to hang on the door at The Studio.  So I had a photo of a yard art tin can man that I had been wanting to make for my garden but decided he would look cool on the door too.

So here he is…my new doorman.    I just used a heavy gauge wire to string him together and adjust his limbs to look right.  If he were in the yard I would plant something in his head can but since he’s on the door I stuck silk flowers there.  Someone suggested that I put paint brushes in the head can.  Great idea.  That will be next!

PinPicks Sept 3 PinPicks Sept 1 PinPicks Sept 2We made a different kind of art at The Studio last night.  Yard Art!  This is the second workshop we have had making Yard Totems from various pieces of glass and pottery.  What fun!  This is a great way to let your creativity flow.
