We had a great day of Art Camp with the young artists painting Monet’s Poppy Field. We talked about Monet (that they like to call Money) and impressionism and they painted these fabulous paintings. Great job!
This was the first time we have offered camp for this young age group and they were great. How can you resist their happy faces when they show off their art.
Here are the Grady twins (with Gryffin photo-bombing) with their painting of Blue Dog. They brought it back in for me to frame for them. Wonderful!

These are the poppies that I painted last night at the Warren Memorial Hospital Foundation’s Denim and Diamonds event. There was a wonderful crowd of women there exploring the different vendors with information on women’s health and well-being. I had a great time seeing so many friends.
Poppies for Charity, acrylic on 12″x12″ canvas. I donated this piece to the raffle. I hope whoever won it likes how it turned out!

The final week of Art Camp for the summer began yesterday at the Blue Ridge Arts Council.
We started by painting the color wheel and learning about color mixing. Then the young artists went on to learn about Monet and we painted this lovely version of Monet’s poppy field using just the three basic colors – red, yellow, and blue, plus white.
Can you believe they did this with just those colors? Great job guys!
