I am obsessed with String Quilting. I was looking for something to do with the TON of scraps I have left from multitudes of rag quilts we have made in workshops. I had boxes of scraps and have been wanting to clean out but I hate to throw away anything useful….you know what I mean. So I started looking for something that we might be able to do as a workshop at The Studio….something a step beyond the beginning rag quilts that we make. I think I found it in the “Quilt As You Go” method of String Quilts. These are so much fun to make and there are many options for designs. I love the scrappy look of these diagonal squares but you could purchase matching fabric to make a more “uniform” design. I’ll share again when it’s done but I had to lay out the squares I finished to see how it was going and I LOVE IT! Twelve squares here and I am going to do 8 more before I connect them. Can’t wait to see it!!!!

We all love sunflowers. They are bright and happy flowers. Why not find a way to enjoy this lovely flower year round? Well, we did! Take a look at this Sunflower Rag Quilt. With a little experimentation we were able to work this one out. Is this a class you’d be interested in taking?
We had a fun sewing session at The Studio yesterday. Here are two of the quilts well on their way to being finished. Great work Nicole and Shelly!
We had the second part of our Quilted Table Runner class last night. They are looking great! Everyone promised to send a photo of their finished products. (They took them home for binding.) I can’t wait to see them but you can get a good idea here with Amber’s. It looks beautiful and we all had a really good time working together. Great work ladies!
