T-Shirt Rag Quilts

We had the best class this weekend with these three ladies making T-shirt Rag Quilts from their old t-shirts. It is such a great project to repurpose and use those shirts just T-shirt Rag Quilt washed taking up drawer space. Hearing all the stories about the shirts was great fun. This is a terrific project and the quilts are a wonderful addition to your home…soft and cozy…great to snuggle up under and watch a movie. Rooster Rag Quilt

Where are our Rooster fans? We have a quilt for you! Join us on April 7th and make one for yourself. We just found this beautiful fabric and we will be making these cool Rooster Rag Quilts. Join us! This is the beginning Rag Quilt class so even if you have never sewn before you can do this. It’s a great way to learn. Come to The Studio for 4 hours and leave with a quilt. How much fun is that???!!! Rag quilts are the latest trend in quilting. They are a quick, fun and different type of quilt offering a refreshing break from traditional quilting! (If you have a machine that you have been wanting to learn to use you can bring it and learn on your very own.) Register here.

T-Shirt Rag Quilt

Have you got tons of t-shirts that you love but never wear any more? If you are like me, you do! You picked them up on vacation….or they have a theme you love…and you had to have it but you just can’t wear them all. Time to repurpose those shirts into something you will use….a nice blanket or throw. Our first T-shirt Rag Quilt workshop is coming up on March 30-31. As promised a few days ago when we introduced the new Calico Cat Rag Quilt , here is the new “Dogs and Heart: Rag Quilt. We love this one. It’s a little harder to make than others we have been making but it’s worth the time and effort. And Jed wanted everyone to know that he was the inspiration for this design. Cat with Heart Rag Quilt I can just imagine a little girl all snuggled up with this Calico Cat Rag Quilt. It’s a new design and we will be making it soon at The Studio. Of course, since I love dogs so much I am working on a new dog design too! That will be here soon. In the meantime this one is for all my kitty loving friends to enjoy. rag quilt heart A new design for our Rag Quilt class is here – A HEART! And just in time for Valentine’s Day. This one is easy and fun to make. We love Rag Quilts because you don’t have to have any sewing experience to be successful. We will be having a workshop on Saturday, February 9th at 1 pm so click here to register as space is limited. Choose your passion….a favorite color, favorite team, favorite pet, etc. and get some fabric that will show off your favorite thing. I made mine with wine cork and vineyard fabrics. I love wine! Rag Quilt Squares

We have made some beautiful Rag Quilts at The Studio over the past few years. See some here and here. And now we’ve been asked to expand from the strips and flowers to squares. There are some really neat pre-printed squares as well as tons of pretty coordinating fabrics that will make great squares. We’ll be giving these a try soon. This is a cute little Dog Themed (Surprise!) quilt that I made recently as a sample.
