Fun Birthday with Sloan

Sloan celebrated her birthday at The Studio yesterday. FUN PARTY! I love how many of her friends made cards for her…especially the Flamingo one. And her grandfather made her this “Palette” to serve her cupcakes from to her guests. 🙂

Busy Saturday

We had a busy Saturday at The Studio. First, we had thirteen 9 and 10 year olds for a Birthday Party. We painted UNICORNS.

Then we had a “Paint Your Home” Party where Barbara and Jackie created these beautiful works of art. A couple of other painters had a few more finishing touches they want to do before call it done.

We started this last year as we felt that it was a good opportunity to thank all the people who supported us throughout the year. We offered several projects for people to make and take with them.

Paint Parties at The Studio are so much fun but Birthday Parties are especially fun! Especially when it’s your 9th Birthday and all your friends join you got the celebration. Yesterday Alayna celebrated her birthday by painting a lovely beach scene with a sea turtle (her special request for the party). And boy did these girls do a fabulous job painting!!! They are just so good. I love how they jump right in. Her mom said that a couple of the girls were a little scared at first but once they saw how we go step by step and demonstrate how to do it and come around and check on their progress they were just fine.

We always say that everyone can make a beautiful work of art at The Studio. And it’s true. Just look at these young artists works. AWESOME!!!

Bday Party 1 Bday Party 12 Bday Party 123 What better way to spend your birthday than painting with your friends. We had two Birthday Parties at The Studio this weekend. The first was Mary’s (click her to see her photo on yesterday’s blog). And Sunday it was Kyleigh’s 10th Birthday and she had friends come join her as she opened gifts, enjoyed cute palette cupcakes that her mom brought in for them, and painted her favorite flower…an orchid. Great job girls!

One year ago today we opened The Studio-A Place for Learning on Main Street in Front Royal. Hard to believe a whole year has passed.

We had a wonderful Birthday Party yesterday evening to celebrate. We made Gelli print bags, Lotus Lanterns, Masks, Decorated Frames and more.

Many, many people have come to classes and learned new arts and crafts this year. We want to thank everyone who has participated in making The Studio a success. Whether you taught a class or workshop or took one, offered ideas and encouragement or helped set up The Studio, we want to say a HUGE thanks. You made it happen.

The Studio is a fun place. People gather to learn but often find that they leave not only with a new skill but have made new and lasting friendships as well. We love that!

So plan to come to the Studio soon. We’d love to see you again (or for the first time)!
